This year’s University of Illinois Orr Agricultural Research and Demonstration Center (Orr Center) Agronomic Field day will take place on Wednesday, July 19th. Registration will open at 8:30 a.m. with tours starting at 9 a.m. The tour will wrap up around noon with lunch provided. Presentations will be made outdoors through plot tours on the farm. Audience questions and discussion will be welcomed. CEUs for Certified Crop Advisors will be offered. RSVP is highly encouraged by email at [email protected] or by phone at (217) 236-4911. This year’s presentations will be:

1. “ESA, EPA, WPS, REI, Four Points… Whose Environment is Being Protected?” by Dr. Aaron Hager
2. “Update on Red Crown Rot Disease in Soybean.” by Dr. Carl Bradley
3. “What Can We Expect From the 2023 Corn and Soybean Crops and Can Management Affect That?” by Dr. Emerson Nafziger
4. “Practical N Management – What Research Trials Are Telling Us.” by Dr. Giovani Preza Fontes
5. “Timing is Everything: The Impact of Cover Crop Planting Date.” by Nathan Johanning
6. “Insect Management Update – Above and Below Ground Bt Traits” by Dr. Nick Seiter.

The Orr Center Agronomic Field Day provides a great opportunity for local individuals in crop production to see ongoing research at the University of Illinois along with new recommended agronomic practices and pest management tactics. The event will take place at the Orr Center at 37804 State Hwy 104, Baylis, IL 62314. We hope to see you there!
