The Friends of the Log Cabins Association, as part of Dogwood weekend, will have an “Open House” Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 1 to 4 PM.  They will have 3 of the 4 1800’s Lincoln-era Log Cabins, the Log Church, the Log Corn Crib and the Stone Smoke House open for viewing the interiors as well as the outside.
The Lincoln-era Log Cabin Village is located in Quinsippi Island Park accessed via All America Park off of North Bonansinga Drive, Quincy, IL.  Self-guided tour information is on their web site at www.logcabinvillagequincyil.com and can be downloaded before or viewed while in the village.
Also, a limited number of Self-Guided tour Information Sheets will be available for visitors to take and read while viewing the structures.  Historical Interpreters will be located inside some of the structures to answer questions.
The Friends remind folks, the Village structures are always available for viewing the outsides from “dawn to dusk”, as they are located in a public park.  Also, there is a Shelter House, Children’s playground “Shaped like a Ship” and Restrooms nearby the village as well.
