The Seventh Annual Moonlight Ride for Hunger will take place, Sat. Sept. 9th on Quincy’s riverfront. The Moonlight Ride for Hunger is a family-friendly community event that benefits the Horizons Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry. The ride begins with a 4-mile trek across both of the bridges here in Quincy, with an optional extended route that takes you up the Bill Klingner Bike Trail and back again for a total of 12 miles.
The Moonlight Ride for Hunger is an annual event to raise money for the Horizons Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry. Horizons is a local ministry that has fed over 32,000 people through their food pantry and served over 50,000 meals through their kitchen just last year. Located at 224 South 8th Street in Quincy, IL, this ministry is at the epicenter of the need of impoverished people in Adams County.
Registration is required for all events and 100% of all proceeds (after expenses) from the Moonlight Ride for Hunger go to Horizons for use in their outreach to the needy in Quincy and the surrounding area! Individuals registering before August 24th will get a free Moonlight Ride t-shirt. Please note that the registration fee for the Adult Bike Ride increases to $40 if you wait until the day of the race to register. The late registration booth will open at 5:30 PM on September 9th for anyone who needs to register then. The ride starts promptly at 7:00 PM.
