Riverfront Street Party Planned with Haley Mae Campbell Concert

The Quincy Boat Club in their new location at 401 Bayview Drive announces the plans for a two-day Riverfront Street Party to be held Friday-Saturday, August 6-7, 2021.  The street party and concerts will be open to the public and will offer food and beverages both nights beginning at 6pm, with the evening concerts to begin at 8pm.

Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters from Jacksonville, IL will kick off the street party Friday night.  This well-known area band, largely entertaining the Midwest, has been voted “Best Band”, “Best Rock/R&B Band” and “Best Local Band” in several Illinois readers polls.  Captain Geech is a show band playing hit songs from an era that hasn’t really passed yet, delivering an energetic performance that appeals to a broad age range.

Haley Mae Campbell from Nashville, TN will headline the event Saturday night.  Haley Mae is on her way to becoming one of Nashville’s new stars.  She made her CMA Fest debut in 2018 with the music video for her single “Oughta Be” premiering on CMT in September of 2018.  She receives local and regional radio airplay and has over 3 million streams on Spotify.

Campbell’s music is a hybrid of city-slicker sass and small-town sensibilities, mixing rock-style vocals with a country-style twang.  Since the release of her first album in 2015, Campbell has opened for country stars including Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, Brothers Osborne, and Carly Pearce.

In a quote on her website, Campbell states, “My music is a reflection of my life experience and it comes from the heart.  With every song, the goal is to take the listener on a journey, paint them a picture and involve them in the story.  I think that is truly what makes music special-when it can transport you to a different state of mind.”

Quincy Boat Club member, Rob Ebbing said, “The club is looking forward to welcoming visitors and area boat clubs to the street party and our new location.  Funds from the City of Quincy Bet on Q grant dollars will greatly assist the club in securing the entertainment this year, and we hope to bring additional events and musical acts to Quincy’s riverfront.”
