The 68th season opener of the Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association. “Beethoven 5” is a unique concert that spans the centuries with music from 1805 to 2015. Guest soprano Penelope Shumate will join the orchestra for Beethoven’s concert aria “Ah perfido.” The orchestra will also perform the monumental Beethoven “Symphony No. 5” and “Lazulian Circuits,” a newly commissioned work byJames Caldwell for orchestra with electronic sound. Held in the magnificent Morrison Theatre at Quincy Junior High.
