The Hancock County Independence Day Celebration will be held Thursday, July 4, 2019 at the historic Carthage Square.  The event begins with breakfast and a community church service followed by the parade at 10:00 AM.  “Freedom! Farmers! Family! Friends!” is the theme for this year’s parade.  After the parade, the square will be filled with music, games, food and craft vendors.  After the Presentation of Colors at noon, the Hancock County Community Choir will perform followed by several entertaining individuals and groups who will pay tribute to our area veterans and our country.  The day’s festivities will end with a fireworks display near Illini West High School.  Anyone interested in being in the parade must complete a parade entry form and return it to Amy Graham, 538 Wabash, Carthage, IL  62321 or email to  Entry forms are available at Carthage City Hall or online at  Parade entry forms are due Friday, June 21, 2019.
