4:00 – 6:30 PM – “Commemorative Viewing”
Residents may symbolically pay their respects to President Lincoln beginning with a commemorative
public “viewing”of a replica of Lincoln’s state coffi n at the Lincoln-Douglas Debate Interpretive Center,
128 North 5th Street.
6:30 PM – “Honorary Cortège”
The replica of the President’s coffi n will be ceremoniously moved by a horse-drawn period hearse
to the new History Museum, 332 Maine, where the program will be held.
7:00 PM Program – “How Quincy Responded to the News”
Presented by Dr. David Costigan, emeritus professor of history at Quincy University,
at The History Museum on the Square, 332 Maine Street.
