A Stand Down is a time for soldiers to leave stress and danger behind and enjoy a time of reprieve and refreshing. Today, some of our heroes continue to live with constant pressures and struggles even beyond their military years. That is what we aim to change – not only for a day but for a lifetime, by providing a free meal, a hot shower, hygiene items, and new clothing. Social service agencies will provide resources to help alleviate homelessness and poverty, while also addressing medical and mental health needs, suicide prevention, addictions, and overall continuum of care. Our veterans deserve it.
