The U.S. Grant Symposium is scheduled for April 27-28, 2018 in downtown Quincy.  A free event with speakers to include; Larry Werline as U.S. Grant, Dr. Steve Belko, Executive Director Missouri Humanities Council, Tim Good, Supt. U.S. Grant National Historic Site, and John Alexander, Books on the Square.  Potential tours include; Dr. Richard Eells House, Underground Railroad site, Lincoln Douglas Interpretive Center and the Lincoln Gallery.  Sponsored by the Historical Society of Adams County.

Reservations are recommended, as seating is limited.   Contact the HSQAC at 217-222-1835 for reservations and hotel information by April 16, 2018.  The host hotel is the Quality Inn & Suites, 201 S 3rd St. downtown Quincy.  Hotel tel 217-222-2666.  Ask for the “U.S. Grant Symposium room block” to receive the $74 event rate.  The  event venues will be the History Museum, 322 Maine and the Oakley Lindsay Civic Center, 300 Civic Center Plaza, Quincy, IL.
