2600 Maine | Quincy, IL
Another point of pride for Robert Zwick, this modern brick complex was erected on 10 acres adjacent to historic Madison Park along Quincy’s beloved Maine Street. A statue and memorial wall commemorating America’s first black priest and former Quincyan, Augustine Tolton, is onsite.
The original St. Peter Church was destroyed by a tornado in 1945 and rebuilt at its current location, with a chapel and statue dedicated to Fr. Tolton.
