The Quincy area overflows with libationary options…exceedingly! In fact, it used to be said that there was a bar and a church on every corner. An exaggeration most certainly, but yet today, we don’t lack in the quantity or diversity of liquid refreshment venues.
Long-established, “Cheers” style, cozy corner bars… Irish bars with full menus, wine bars & farm to table spots with brunch specials & fresh Bloody Marys… shotgun style, narrow little Sunday night Blues bars… live music, entertainment, karoake & dancing platforms… well, you get the picture.
Bob Hope said : “I like to play in the low 70’s. If it gets any hotter than that, I like to stay in the bar!”
We agree, Bob. With the exception of Quincy’s downtown Blues in the District, every summer on the 2nd & 4th Friday of the month in Historic Washington Park. Nothing better than grabbing a few “cold ones” or a chilled bottle of wine from surrounding pubs, heading to the park, and unwinding through the night with the phenomenal sounds of regional blues talent.
